"As a great man who had a great voice in world issues, President Clinton continues to make political dialogue, here and around the world," Scorsese said in a statement.
"Through intimate conversations, I hope to give a depth to the figure," he said as quoted by Reuters.
HBO did not say when the shooting started or when the documentary will be aired.
